Welcome!

The 2010 Creative World Awards International Screenwriting Competition is now open for entries! We invite you to browse the site and take a moment to interact in the various CWA rooms, all of which have been designed with the screenwriter in mind.

Make sure you check out the full details of what’s new at CWA this year – the first of which is the newly added categories. The four main feature screenplay genre categories remain, but we now have six new additions to compete in as well; five in television and one for short film. Finally, we are thrilled to announce an exciting, new collaboration with Michael Hauge as this season's special guest blogger.

Now in its third year, CWA has become a driving force in the industry. CWA is one of the few contests that promotes beyond winning scripts - sending out loglines of the top ten scripts as well. So far, four scripts from the 2008 contest have been optioned and several more are in the works from 2009.

Join the next wave of sought after writers and... Submit Your Script Today! We look forward to working with you to make 2010 the best year yet.

THE CWA VISION

CWA is an international screenwriting contest known for having the writer's interest at heart when it comes to development and industry promotion. We have built relationships with some of the industry's most recognized companies, all of which are aggressively looking for fresh, new material.

At CWA, we have made it our goal to expose talented new writers to many of these A-list companies. By doing so, our vision is to help writers garner the exposure and recognition they need to propel their personal projects and careers forward.

Now going into our third year, with several options signed for past entrants, we have firmly established ourselves worldwide as a leading source for discovering emerging talent in the entertainment industry.

INDUSTRY PARTICIPATION

CWA winning screenplays are circulated to top agencies, film studios, managers, producers, and international financers looking for their next project and writer. These companies include:
Dark Hero Inferno Entertainment
Morgan Creek Relativity Media
Lionsgate/Mandate Intrepid Pictures
Gaumont Icon Entertainment
Voltage Pictures Odd Lot
Bandito Brothers  VN Entertainment
GreeneStreet Films The Radmin Company

SCRIPT NOTES

Even the most successful and seasoned writers need outside opinions. At CWA, our seasoned analysts offer in-depth insights that help you hone and refine your premise, flesh out and define your characters, enrich your conflicts and examine your plot choices.

You will receive a 6-8 page analysis report, which is designed not only to help you improve critical technical elements, but also target the overall marketability of your script. We go through all areas of the craft, helping you to improve your draft ensure it is pitch ready before you send it out.

Remember in Hollywood, you only have one chance to make a lasting impression…so make it your best!
